The weather for the past couple of days has been pretty amazing, I believe that this may be because my grandparents are over from spain and have brought the weather with them. Anyway, the family and I went out for dinner tonight and this post is just to show what I was wearing

I don't really know what my inspiration fort his look was, maybe a little bit of 90's thrown in with Kylie Jenner and a hint of Kristen Stewart? Anyway, its pretty causal and comfy and I quite like it

On Friday night I went to a friends leaving party, who is going to France and then Germany!! 

I had nothing to wear for this, but thankfully one of my friends lent me their skirt and I managed to pair it with an old crop top I had and my classic heeled boots. Although, I somehow managed to get red lipstick down my top before I even got to the party, I am that clumsy...

Here's a picture which, I'm sorry is not very good quality as I had to take it quickly before I left on my phone. Next outfit will be taken with an actual camera!!

Today was the day of my higher exam results and I'm delighted to say that I got 3 A's and 2 B's this year. Genuinely can't believe it, so happy with them!!

So as a way of a congratulations, my mum and dad took me out for dinner, so I felt that it was appropriate to wear my classic LBD. But a slightly different version, as this one has a chain joining the collars which I love, and to make it a bit edgier, I put on black cut out boots + red nail polish and lipstick finished the look. So out I went, all lady like in my dress and ordered a burger and then a hot chocolate fudge cake dessert...oh well

Back to School Haul

In little under two weeks I'm going back to school...Oh. God. No. 
I don't think I'm going to be ready for the workload, the annoying teachers and the free periods. However, this year is going to be a bit of a bitter sweet year, as it's my last year at school. Which is sad and scary and exciting and confusing all at the same time. 

Anyway, I thought I'd piece together some things that are needed for school-clothes wise. Yes, plenty of people have said to me "school is not a fashion show" but I have promptly ignored them each time. If you want to wear nice clothes to school do it!  Here's a few of my must haves for braving school...

1. Jumper is from River Island, and is perfect for when the weather starts to get cooler. Also, is sometimes more flattering than a cardigan, if you get one that fits you well- get here

2. Bag is from H&M, I love this bag so so so much. I think it's so classic and plain, but also efortlessly chic at the same time. Must buy for school- get here

3. Pinafore is from Daisy Street, I think these pinafores are quite cute and add a girly touch on uniform, whilst this one is navy it does come in black as well, but due to such low numbers of it, I felt it was best to just include the navy one instead- get here

4. Shirt is from Topshop, you can't go wrong with a plain white shirt. Some schools-mine included-don't let you wear any other colour or pattern (by pattern I mean stripes, NOT Tommy Bahama print)- get here

5. Skirt is from New Look, I've ordered this skirt because I love the unusual shape of it and the zip detail. I am, however, slightly worried that it could be a little on the short side..I will report back later- get here

6. Trousers are from Forever 21, for me F21 is the home of preppy, so if you feel like channelling a bit of Blair Waldorf this year, I would definitely look there. These trousers have a timeless look about them and F21 are usually very good at their clothes maintaining colour and size- get here

7. Shoes are from New Look, again, these are my school shoes, I've just ordered them. Mainly I got them because New Look has an amazing selection of shoes which are sturdy. But also because they are plain enough to pair with anything and not look out of place- get here

8. Cardigan is from H&M, H&M is my trusted shop for school clothes, the stuff last. This may just seem like a very boring plain cardigan- which it sorta is- but it's a staple, you can pretty much throw this over anything and go. It is needed for school, I literally couldn't survive without mine-get here

Yes, I know they're all dark and dreary looking, but it's school clothes; you work with what you've got. So I guess all now you need to add now is a tie, tights and a blazer. I hope this is making you look forward to school a little bit more. Sadly, I love a good school clothes shop. Anyway, have fun getting school clothes and, also, a big good luck to my fellow Scottish pupils anxiously awaiting exam results tomorrow! 

The Twelfth Doctor

Guys. GUYS. GUYS. Peter Capaldi is going to be the next Doctor. This is amazing. He's Scottish, we only thought we'd get one Scottish guy in, now we have two. Excuse me whilst I cry tears of joy..

Yeah, he's a great actor, I think he'll be funny and possibly quite dark? I'm so excited to see what he brings to the role, although, I'm really sad that Matt Smith is leaving I loved him as the Doctor. I thought he brought a child-like feeling to the Doctor, and he was quite hot.

Rainy Days and Wednesdays Always Get Me Down

I ventured on to the High Street today to try and replace my broken sunglasses. This turned out to be a fruitless search and I ended up coming home with a sketchbook and 2B graphite pencil for school...

Anyway, Since the weather has been pretty bi-polar as of late I decided the best idea was to go for a summery skirt and a wintery jumper. When I left the house it was warm and sunny, when I was coming home it was pouring down...I'm never going to win against this weather. 

As you can see this post has taken inspiration from The Carpenters song- Rainy Days And Mondays, a favourite of my mums, and perfect for sad rainy day weather. Lets pray the weather gets its act together and gives us some sunshine before school starts again. 

Rain, Rain Go Away...

The sunny weather has officially broke, we are back to having our normal 'British Summer' i.e. rain. Showers have been predicted for the rest of this week, and, unfortunately, I think this is the way that the weather is going to stay. The best thing that we can do is make light of the situation, by wearing fabulous coats designed to keep he rain at bay. If you're like me and either forget to put an umbrella in your bag, or your bags too small for one, you're probably in the market for a decent rain coat.
Don't worry to make things easier for you, I have scoured the 4 corners of the internet to bring you the best of the bunch...

1. See-through Mac is from Topshop. I adore this Mac, mainly because you can cover yourself from the rain, but at the same time you can show off what you are wearing, genius. Well done Topshop for thinking of that! Also, it's a nice length, perfect for wearing to festivals, so you can wear shorts and still look as though your wearing shorts-nothing worse than getting judge-y looks from stranger cause they don't think you are wearing any bottoms...

2. Parka is from H&M. I am a massive fan of H&M, honestly, they can do no wrong in my eyes, even if it is a horrific neon leopard print top-I can see what they were trying to do and forgive them. I love the hidden zip and buttons and the classic khaki green colour makes it withstand the test of time. Perfect for festivals or for just throwing over jeans and a top if its raining outside. And, you know the quality will be good, H&M never fail there.

3. Anorak is from Nasty Gal. The Aztec print knitted sleeves have won me over, I'm not usually a fan of Aztec Print, but Nasty Gal have executed them so well it was hard not to fall in love. Again, with the classic khaki colour, but also, the zip and leather accents on this jackets add to the detail giving it an amazing, well thought out look. The back of the jacket is also beautifully made with a pleat down the back giving it a more lady like shape. With a hood as well, you'd be praying for rain..

4.  Anorak is (again) from Nasty Gal. This anorak looks so slouchy and comfy, perfect for just throwing over shorts in the summer rain. Although, I have to say that it was the amazing blush colour that made me fall in love with this jacket. It gives it a super girly, feminine edge, but also makes it look classy and sophisticated. With an oversized hood this anorak is perfect for protecting yourself from downpour.

5. Cape is from Boohoo. I need a cape in my life, and this one looks perfect. Not only can this cape protect you from summer showers, it can also see you through the A/W months as well. Perfect for chillier days in summer. Also, the picture doesn't show this well, but it has a buckle to fasten it up at the top, which I love and I think it perfect for adding to chic look of this cape. I would seriously suggest in buying a cape, as they are a staple piece in a wardrobe and will always look fashionable.

So there you go, some rainy day cover ups. I hope this gives you some inspiration for what to wear when it rains this summer, but fingers crossed we see the sun sometime in the near future...

A Review 'Undressed'

Being someone who likes to get good quality make up products, that last, I was intrigued by MUA's copy of Urban Decay's 'Naked' pallet. A friend recommended I tried it before splurging out on the UD original pallet. And, I was pleasantly surprised. As I have not used UD's pallet this review will not compare both products, it will simply just be about MUA's 'Undressed' pallet.

Paying £4 for this I wasn't really expecting that much, thinking "If it's not good, I've not wasted that much money." As I said, I was pleasantly surprised. The range of colours made it a pallet which I think could make it work for both daytime and night-time, with lighter and contrasting darker colours.

For Daytime- I use the lighter shades, usually the pinks, taking the lightest colour(Shade 1) and putting it in the corner and slightly underneath the bottom of my eye to brighten it up and make me look more awake-this will definitely come in handy for early mornings at school. 

For Night-Time- I go for the bronzes, and use the greys in the crease of my eye to give it depth. Also, I would put some flicked eyeliner on as well. I try not to put too much on or else I run the risk of looking like a man at drag who should be performing in Vegas. 

What surprised me the most was the fact that the eyeshadow stayed on all day, not having to reapply at lunch or half way through a party is a godsend. I've had way more expensive eyeshadow that's just disapeared after a few hours of wearing. The quality you are getting for such a reasonable price is amazing

So, I would say, buy it. You are definitely getting your moneys worth, 'Underessed' by MUA is a reasonably priced, long lasting pallet which will see to all your eyeshadowing needs without breaking the bank and running down your face after 2 hours outside. Which is a major bonus.

Summertime Sadness

Being one of the lucky ones who lives in Scotland...summer is not always guaranteed. However, this year, much to everyone's surprise we actually got sunshine. This meant that as a nation we could finally peel off our sodden skinny jeans and woollen jumpers and clothe ourselves in actual summertime clothes-rejoice. I was dusting off skirts and t shirts that time forgot, and finally was able to put my maxi skirt/dress collection to use. Furthermore, great shock came when I went to T In The Park and it didn't rain. Shorts and t shirts were pretty much the uniform this year, as was flower head bands and face paint. The heat wave carried on after the festival was finished.

Sadly, for the past few days the sun has died down and the monsoon like rain has reared its ugly head. I think we have all pretty much realised that this is what the rest of the 'summer' is going to be like. So, this is why I get disheartened going into shops and seeing 'mid-season sale'. I see no point buying shorts and strappy tops to wear for a few weeks and never put on again because when I see it next summer my only thought is "what was I thinking?" and totally disregard it for it to lie in a drawer forever more.

Mid season sales are a tricky thing to navigate yourself through, so here is some tips

1) Can you/will you wear it next season? Is it a floral dress that tights and a leather jacket will make it look A/W acceptable? A floaty top that a cardigan can be thrown over to fight off the chills?
2) Is it simple enough to wear next S/S? Is it a plain coloured summers dress or a basic pair of denim shorts? These things tend not to go out of style and can be worn year after year.

3) Have you had your eye on it before? I bought a pair of beautiful cut out boots from River Island in the sale which I was drooling over for an age (£65 to £7, I couldn't resist), even though they won't see me through to A/W, I know that I will wear them as much as possible during the summer.

4) Would you pay full price for it? If you wouldn't, don't bother buying it for the sake of a bargain that you won't ever use-been there many a time.
